Gear & upgrades
Equipment, gems & the Ether Forge
The endgame depth layer: sacrifice creatures for Essence, forge frames and gems, socket and enchant them, then equip them to push your team further. It is all free to earn - and PvE-only, so it never touches duels or the arena.
The gear loop
- 1 Sacrifice Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria altar to release its element Essence (NFTs reset to base level instead of being destroyed).
- 2 Forge At the Ether Forge, use each frame's listed recipe. Gems cost 8 matching Essence, 20 Ether Shards and 500 coins.
- 3 Socket Socket gems into a frame's sockets (a frame has 1-3 sockets from its item level).
- 4 Enchant Optionally enchant the piece +1 to +12 to multiply its stats - with destroy risk past +3.
- 5 Equip Equip the finished piece on a creature. Gear boosts PvE battles only.
Frames (the 4 slots)
Universal equipment slots - any frame fits any creature. Each has a small base stat plus 1-3 sockets for gems. Aegis Ward and Swift Sigil need no Ether Shards; Wrath Rune and Fortune Prism do.
| Frame | Base stat | Forge cost |
|---|---|---|
| Aegis Ward | +8% DEF | 8 Essence + 12 Verdant Sap + 750 coins |
| Wrath Rune | +6% ATK | 12 Essence + 8 Gnarled Root + 15 Ether Shards + 1500 coins |
| Swift Sigil | +6% Speed | 10 Essence + 10 Sea Glass + 1000 coins |
| Fortune Prism | +4% Crit | 14 Essence + 5 Abyssal Pearl + 30 Ether Shards + 2500 coins |
| Item level | Sockets | Drop rarity |
|---|---|---|
| +0 | 1 | common |
| +1 | 1 | common |
| +2 | 2 | uncommon |
| +3 | 2 | rare |
| +4 | 3 | very rare |
Element gems
Nine element gems, each giving a fixed bonus. Forge one with 8 matching Essence, 20 Ether Shards and 500 coins, then socket it into any frame. Gems never drop from wild creatures.
Every gear item and how to get it
Everything that feeds the Forge - gems, materials, essences, reroll items and catalysts. Tap an item to see its exact source or recipe.
Element gems
Forge only: 8 matching Essence, 20 Ether Shards, and 500 coins. Socket into any frame; gems never drop from wild creatures.
Zone upgrade materials
Drop on wild wins in their zone; spent on standard enchants (+1 to +10). Deep Gear +11/+12 uses the dungeon materials below.
Deep Gear materials
Dungeon-only drops (Solroot Depths + Atlantis). Feed the +11/+12 Deep Gear band.
Essences
Released by sacrificing a creature at the Etheria altar. Forge frames + gems.
Bonus-line rerolls
Craft at the Forge (or rare dungeon drops). Reroll a frame's random bonus lines.
Upgrade catalysts & insurance
Boost enchant success or stop a DESTROY. Farmed, forged, fished or from dungeon chests.
Enchanting (upgrades +1 to +12)
Upgrades through +10 cost their listed zone material and coins. Deep Gear +11/+12 instead costs the listed Abyssal Ore and Solroot Root bundle plus coins. Neither band consumes Ether Shards. Each attempt multiplies a piece's stats but can fail. Through +3 a failure is safe (you only lose materials). From +4 up, a failure can downgrade -1 or even DESTROY the frame and its gems - a Ward Charm turns a destroy into a harmless -1 through +10. For +11/+12, Ward Charms and pearls do not work: only a Leviathan Scale prevents destruction.
| Level | Success | Destroy risk | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| +1safe | 86% | - | 2x Verdant Sap + 200 coins |
| +2safe | 80% | - | 2x Verdant Sap + 400 coins |
| +3safe | 74% | - | 3x Sea Glass + 600 coins |
| +4 | 68% | 5% | 3x Sea Glass + 800 coins |
| +5 | 62% | 10% | 4x Gnarled Root + 1000 coins |
| +6 | 56% | 15% | 4x Gnarled Root + 1200 coins |
| +7 | 50% | 20% | 5x Abyssal Pearl + 1400 coins |
| +8 | 44% | 25% | 5x Abyssal Pearl + 1600 coins |
| +9 | 38% | 30% | 6x Ether Dust + 1800 coins |
| +10 | 32% | 35% | 6x Ether Dust + 2000 coins |
| +11 | 30% | 35% | 6x Abyssal Ore + 4x Solroot Root + 2200 coins |
| +12 | 28% | 35% | 8x Abyssal Ore + 6x Solroot Root + 2600 coins |
Bonus lines & grades
Every gear frame can carry random bonus lines - extra rolled stats on top of its base and gems. A frame drops with a grade that sets how many lines it starts with: Common (1 line), Rare (2), Epic (3, up to 4). Deeper zones and dungeons drop higher grades. Bonus lines are flat (independent of the enchant +level) and only apply in PvE (wild, trainer, dungeon) - duels and the arena stay gear-free.
Combat lines
+Attack / Defense / HP / Speed / Crit / Accuracy / Dodge, plus Lifesteal, Regeneration, Crit Damage, Thorns, First Strike, Last Stand, Cheat Death, Element Mastery and more.
Farming lines
+% EXP, coins, material find, catch rate, Ether Shard find, fishing luck and loot chance - stacked across your fielded team (capped) to speed up every grind.
Frame tiers
Frames come in tiers - Steel, Mithril, Abyssal - that drop deeper and carry a higher base-stat floor.
Rerolling your lines
Chase a god-rolled frame at the Ether Forge's Bonuses tab:
- 📜Rune Scroll - rerolls ALL of a frame's bonus lines (new types and values). The big gamble.
- 🔮Enchant Marble - rerolls only the VALUES, keeping the bonus types you already like.
- 🟣Blessed Marble - adds one more line, up to the grade's maximum.
Essence & sacrifice
Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria entrance altar to release its element Essence. A caught creature is consumed; an NFT is not destroyed - it resets to base level (keeping mutations and gear), so it is a renewable Essence source. The more leveled the creature, the more Essence you get.
Ether Shards & the Forge
Ether Shards are the soulbound currency of the Lands of Etheria. Gems, premium frames, Ward Charms, Ether Catalysts and selected rerolls consume Shards. Upgrades through +10 use zone materials and coins; Deep Gear +11/+12 uses an Abyssal Ore and Solroot Root bundle plus coins. Neither upgrade band consumes Ether Shards.
FAQ
How does equipment work in Soltokemons?+
Sacrifice a creature for its element Essence, forge a frame with its listed recipe, forge and socket gems, then optionally enchant the piece from +1 to +12. Upgrades through +10 use zone materials and coins; Deep Gear +11/+12 uses an Abyssal Ore and Solroot Root bundle plus coins. Gear affects PvE only, not duels or the arena.
What are gems and frames?+
The four universal frame slots are Aegis Ward, Wrath Rune, Swift Sigil and Fortune Prism. A frame has one to three sockets based on item level. Any of the nine element gems fits any frame on any creature.
How do upgrades (enchanting) work?+
Enchanting pushes a piece from +0 up to +12, multiplying its stats. Upgrades through +10 cost a tier material and coins; Deep Gear +11/+12 replaces that material with the listed Abyssal Ore and Solroot Root bundle plus coins. Neither band consumes Ether Shards. It can succeed, downgrade, or, past +3, DESTROY the frame and its gems. Through +3, failure only consumes the attempt cost. A Ward Charm protects attempts through +10. Ward Charms and pearls do not work at +11/+12; only a Leviathan Scale prevents destruction there.
How do I get Essence?+
Sacrifice a creature at the Etheria entrance altar. A caught creature is consumed; an NFT is not destroyed - it just resets to base level (keeping its mutations and gear), so it is a renewable Essence source. Yield scales with the level you sacrifice from.
Does equipment make the game pay-to-win?+
No. The whole loop is free and earned by playing (sacrifice, wild drops, the Forge), and gear is disabled in PvP (duels and the arena) so it only helps in PvE. The optional $STKM/NFT layer is separate.
